From the Chamber
AND BEYOND!
Greetings humans and all that walk the earth!
I hope everyone had as great an April and Easter that the Chamber did! April
was yet another month filled with exciting events, visitors and calls inquiring
about Roswell. We had a grand total of 641 calls, three visitors from out of town
(TX, FL,&WA), and we had a total of thirteen packages mailed out (some went to
Californian, Arizona, Oklahoma, Idaho, Utah, Texas, Mississippi, and Nevada).
We kicked off the month with a Ribbon Cutting at Code 3 Services and a Navy Pilot Luncheon with Burgers
provided by Chef Todzilla! The very next day we had McTeachers night at McDonald’s followed by an
Archways to Opportunity Graduation. It was an amazing evening at McDonald’s for everyone, teachers
and students alike. The next week we had our annual Legislative Reception held at the Liberty with over
90 people attending. We heard from our local legislators about the topics and bills that were discussed
up in Santa Fe New Mexico. This was an informative and energetic meeting that kept people talking even
after the meeting was over. Next, we participated in a Domino’s Pizza Purple Day Check Presentation to
the Royal Family Kids of New Mexico Foundation. Later in the week, we had three events in a row come
up. First, we hosted our Business After Hours at Century 21 Home Planning with no lack of food, fun, and
networking! The very next day we another Ribbon Cutting to attend at the new Little Caesars Pizza next
to the new Harbor Freight Supply Store. You can now get your tools for home improvement and pick up
dinner, making the wife happy at home! Lastly, we had another Ribbon Cutting, but this one was out in
Midway, NM. It was the Ribbon Cutting and Dedication of Cumberland Park which has been cleaned up
and updated to what it is now.
The week that followed was quiet, but the weekend, was not. The Chamber had three separate events that
we were involved with. First was the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast that we all went to and ate till we couldn’t
any more. Second was the Big Brother and Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake, which we had formed a team for
and bowled our arms off. Lastly the Friends at the Spring River Park and Zoo hosted their first ever Brew
at the Zoo! This event invited local brewers from Roswell and some from Santa Fe to participate in this
event. Plenty of beer, food, and entertainment was there for the public and proceeds were donated for the
animals! Even though the bulk of the events were over, we still had one more to close the month with, and
that was Mornings with the Mayor!
April was a great month and I am so happy that the Chamber was a part of it.
Have a happy May everyone and as always,
to the chamber and Beyond!
