Class of 2018
In Full Swing!
The Roswell Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Roswell
Class of 2018 has officially begun. The program accepted
30 students into this year’s program, the highest ever.
On Tuesday, September 5th, students, guests and alumni
met at the Country Club for the Welcome Reception. The
students were able to mingle with classmates and alumni
and begin getting to know one another. The Country Club
catered and served pulled pork sandwiches on Hawaiian
rolls, bacon wrapped pineapple, bacon wrapped jalapenos,
and chicken skewers. The meal was amazing! See Betty
Sanchez at the Country Club for your next event!
The orientation and first class began on Friday, September
8th at the Roswell Chamber of Commerce. Rick Kraft,
Executive Director, welcomed the class and gave an
overview of the program. Rick’s talk encouraged students
to make a difference and do it today, one life at a time.”
Past President and Past Program Director Laurie Jerge
got the students out of their seats and working together
in a large and small group exercises. The Chamber of
Commerce provided lunch catered by Martin’s Capitol
Café.
After lunch the students traveled to the Historical
Society for Southeast New Mexico where they met with

Councilor Tabitha Denny and Councilor Caleb Grant
spoke with class. Rick worked with the class leading them
in exercises regarding their priorities and heroes.
John LeMay, President of the Historical Society of SENM
taught the students the history of Roswell. Amy Davis
gave the class a tour of the museum. It was a packed day
of education and training. The next class will include
the ropes course at the Assurance Home on Friday,
September 29th.
