President's Letter
Dear Roswell Chamber of Commerce Members,
October brings us to one of the busiest times of the year in our
community, Fair Time! From parade, to concerts, to rides and animals,
fair week has brought our community together for more than a century.
The Eastern New Mexico State Fair brings thousands of visitors from all
over the state to participate in what is often the most generous livestock
sale in the whole state. Competition is fierce, but friendships among the

“show” families are often multi-generational. The theme of this year’s fair,
Our Roots Run Deep and True, speaks volumes about our home.
How blessed we are to live in a community that values our history, our youth and the industries that
provide jobs that drive our economy. The fair is so much more than just a good time. I encourage all
of you, our wonderful members, to not just drink seven-dollar lemonades at the fair, but drink in the
culture, the diversity, the history and the hope that is embodied by our fair. It is one of the many great
things in our community about which we can all be proud!
Sincerely,
Shawna Perry | Board President, Roswell Chamber of Commerce
